NETWORK CABLING SERVICES
When purchasing and installing new technology, like a video security system or home automation system, business owners and homeowners don’t give sufficient thought to the structured cabling infrastructure necessary to support these systems. But the truth is, the health of your IT infrastructure is critical to the ongoing prospects of your business or your lifestyle. Professionally installed, certified network cabling can have a significant positive impact on your system’s overall performance, ensuring reliability and ease of use for years to come.
Your Local Cabling Experts
The cabling experts at PM Alarms provide full network cabling services from start to finish, handling everything from an initial needs assessment and design to installation, testing, certification and ongoing maintenance. We work in all environments utilizing EIA/TIA and BICSI standards. We seek to deliver quality services to our customers, and want to be the go-to choice for all of your network cabling needs.
Site Assessment
At PM Alarms we invest the time to really get to know our customers and their home or business before we begin their network cabling project. This process starts with the site assessment.
During your initial consultation with us, we will visit your location to assess your cabling needs. We’ll conduct a thorough walkthrough of your facility, assess your existing systems and equipment, take measurements and review blueprints and floor plans to develop a detailed plan for the type, quantity, and routing for the cabling we’ll need. We strive to be as transparent as possible in our process, and to provide you with an accurate price quote the first time.
One of the biggest complaints we hear from homeowners and business owners is that network cabling providers often underestimate on their job quotes. After installation is completed, customers are often blindsided by an invoice that is significantly higher than what they were expecting initially.
At PM Alarms, we are up front regarding project costs, and in providing an accurate initial estimate. Not only will we ask for detailed layouts of your property, but we will also take the time to get to know your needs, goals and budget for the project, along with how you might need to expand your systems in the future. This allows us to come up with an accurate price quote. We value the relationships we have with our customers, and we strive to build relationships that last for years to come.
Planning Your Cabling
Every project we design is developed to EIA/TIA and BICSI standards to ensure proper and professional installation. And if necessary, our team also offers CAD or Visio construction documents, infrastructure audits, testing and certification. Whether you need network wiring for new facility construction, an office remodel or expansion, moves/adds/changes, a data center, a server room, a school campus network, or any other purpose, our technicians will provide you with a detailed breakdown of labor and materials costs, and a timeline for completion of your project. And we will work to make sure that the project quote is as close to matching your budget as possible.
Network Configuration
At PM Alarms, we focus on delivering a quality experience to our customers, no matter the size of the project. We know that attention to detail and proper cable management is essential to the sustainability and scalability of a successful network environment. We will work to make your network configuration project as seamless as possible.
We begin by conducting a consultative session to understand your current network infrastructure needs and your future expansion plans, to design and implement structured cabling systems and equipment that meet your company’s needs for the long term. Our goal is to preserve the flexibility of your environment so it is scalable and ready for future technological advances as well as expansion of your business operations.
We’ll work to ensure seamless configuration between your new equipment and your existing structure, to minimize any impact on your business operations, time and budget.
And if any issues arise along the way, we will inform your team in real time, so that you are not surprised by unexpected charges in the middle of the project. We feel that this transparency is what sets up apart from other cabling providers.
Network Cable Installation
We understand how inconvenient it can be to have a construction project taking place at your home or place of business. You can count on us to determine how best to install your new structured cabling with minimal disruptions to your lifestyle or business operations. Our technicians will work to complete your project as expediently as possible, while maintaining strict quality standards.
We will work with you ahead of the project to schedule an installation time frame that is best for your needs. It may be possible for us to work after business hours if this is a better fit for your schedule. Our goal is to make the network cabling installation process as seamless for you as we can.
Whether you need data cabling, fiber optic cabling, or low voltage cabling, our experienced team can design, install, test, troubleshoot and maintain any size structured cabling project in any home or business environment.
Fiber Optic
Fiber optic cables have become increasingly popular as a network cable. The cables contain strands of glass or plastic fibers. They offer fast speeds and are ideal for high performance data networking, telecommunications, and long distance communications. Fiber optic cables tend to provide higher bandwidth options than standard cables. Additionally, fiber optic cables do not generally require signal boosters. Because fiber optic cables can transmit over long distances, they are ideal for networking, telecommunications and storage applications in wiring closets, distribution frames, gateways, central offices and data centers. Much of the world’s telephone systems, internet, and cable television rely on fiber optic networks.
RG59
RG59 cables are a heavy duty option designed for customers looking to solve bandwidth and frequency problems. RG59/U is a type of coax cable that is for radio frequency (RF) signals and low power video. In general, RG59 isn’t designed with a heavy coverage shield, making it more useful in lower frequency signals such as closed circuit television (CCTV) and video surveillance, so it is an excellent choice for your video security needs. RG59 coaxial cable is most common in consumer products such as televisions, DVD players, digital cable, and satellite. Because it is a relatively inexpensive cable, it is a cost effective solution to connecting short range audio and video signals.
Cat5 and Cat6 Cabling
Of the cable that we offer, these are most specifically designed for network cabling projects. We use them frequently to connect modems to computers and servers. The design of these cables has come a long way over the past few years. Cat5E (Cat5 Enhanced) cable became the standard cable about 15 years ago and offers significantly improved performance over Cat5 cable, including up to 10 times faster speeds and significantly greater ability to traverse distances without being impacted by crosstalk, which is electromagnetic signal interference caused by many cables being near each other. Now, these cables offer faster service and less crosstalk than ever before, potentially making them an ideal option for your network servicing needs. Cat6 cables have primarily been used as the backbone to networks, instead of being used run to workstations themselves.
